APC Implementation and Training Facilitator
Nomzikayise Khonkwane started working in the City of Cape Town, Site B clinic in 1999 as a Professional Nurse . Joined the HAST Programme in 2004 working for Medicins Sans Frontiers in Lusikisiki as Senior Professional Nurse where I lead a Roving Team that pioneered a Nurse Based Initiation of Antiretroviral at primary healthcare level in Lusikisiki. Between 2006 and 2011, worked for PEPFAR Funded Organizations( ICAP, TB HIV Care, Africare Injongo Yethu and Khethimpilo) Strengthening Health Systems through Nurse Mentoring and Training in Qaukeni, Ugu District in KZN, Chris Hani districts and in the Cape Metro, Western Cape. Championed training and Implementation of PALSA PLUS, ACTS, PACK in Khayelitsha /Sub-Structure, Western Cape.
Joined the Western Cape Department of Health and worked as a PMTCT Clinical Coordinator in Khayelitsha/Eastern Sub-structure where I facilitated the implementation and Roll-out of the Option B-Plus PMTCT Guidelines at Sub-Structure, collaborated with Department of Nutrition fast racking the accreditation of the 3 MOUs in Khayelitsha Eastern -Substructure as BFHI institutions.
