Our COVID-19 vaccine materials were designed for both the public and healthcare workers, offering clear information on vaccine safety, effectiveness, eligibility, and rollout processes. This collection also includes resources developed for the Sisonke study, all of which were regularly updated to reflect new evidence and support informed decision-making across communities and clinical settings.

Sisonke pharmacy and vaccine preparation course
This course is designed for pharmacists, medical doctors and nurses that are part of the teams running the pharmacies distributing and the preparation sites preparing the vaccine. Please note that this does not replace National or Provincial trainings that vaccinators are required to complete. This course is designed to complement the vaccinator training through training the pharmacy teams.
This course covers the following:
- Syringe filling expansion information and documentation
- Vaccine Management training
- How to prepare the pharmacy and preparation sites
- Top Tips and Best Practices (how to fill a syringe)
Sisonke COVID-19 vaccine course
This course is designed for COVID-19 vaccinators.Note that this does not replace National or Provincial trainings that vaccinators are required to complete. This course is designed to complement the vaccinator training.
This course covers the following:
- Information about the Ad26.COV2.S COVID-19 vaccine (JnJ)
- How to administer the Ad26.COV2.S COVID-19 vaccine (JnJ)
- How to manage a client who has a history of allergy or blood clots
- How to manage a client who experiences an adverse event at the vaccination visit
- How to manage a client who experiences side effects
Orientation course for vaccination site champions
This course is designed for vaccination site champions who are responsible for supporting the rollout of Sisonke 2 (also known as Sisonke Boost) at National Vaccination Sites. The champion will be the primary link between the site and the supporting research team. This training is designed to help ensure the right participants get booster vaccinations safely and that sites follow correct study procedures in line with SAHPRA and ethics committee approvals.
