Implementation & Training Facilitator
Christy-Joy Ras joined the KTU in March 2015 as a nurse trainer. When starting out her career as a nurse she worked in a rural hospital in KZN as a midwife and then started the ARV clinic at the rollout of ARVs in the public sector in 2004. In 2007 she began working with a Durban based NGO, where she managed the HIV/wellness workplace programme, and was a nurse trainer supporting the Department of Health. In 2012, she relocated to Johannesburg to work for the training team of a company specialising in the management of HIV and wellness in corporate company’s. In 2015 she relocated to Cape Town and started working for the KTU as a facilitator in the training and implementation team. Christy-Joy has lead on the training of the PACK programme in the Western Cape, Nigeria and Ethiopia, and supported the implementation. She is passionate about the PACK training programme and its approach to adult learning and facilitation.
