Mareike Rabe is the Clinical Content Lead for the Knowledge Translation Unit (KTU), joining the team in 2022.

She is responsible for maintaining the clinical content of various clinical tools, for example, the PACK Adult, PACK Child and the Adult Primary Care guides. This involves synthesising current resources,  such as relevant policies, guidelines and medicines lists, in order to develop, update and arrange the content in an easy-to-use format for primary health care workers. She therefore engages with various stakeholders so that the end user in a specific setting finds the content valuable in their daily practice.

Mareike worked in rural and semi-urban settings for over 10 years, mostly in the North West Province of South Africa. Here she exercised her management, training and leadership skills, while also practicing as a primary and emergency care doctor. 

She is passionate about primary care research. Her vision is to contribute to an environment where all primary care users receive equitable, quality care from knowledgeable, compassionate health care providers.
