Christy-Joy Ras
Head of Learning and Development
Christy-Joy Ras is the Head of Learning and Development at the Knowledge Translation Unit (KTU). She joined the team in 2015.
In her current role, she is responsible for the PACK training programme instructional design, overseeing the development of the online training courses as well as training materials to support implementation and programme management.
Previously at the KTU, Christy-Joy was part of the team that transitioned the training onto an online platform, increasing the accessibility and versatility of the content. She led the training of the PACK Programme in the Western Cape of South Africa (SA), in Nigeria, Ethiopia and Indonesia, as well as training interventions in numerous research studies.
Prior to starting at the KTU, Christy-Joy worked in the training and implementation field of the South African PHC system for over 15 years.
Christy-Joy is passionate about the PACK training programme and its approach to adult learning and facilitation. She values its ability to empower health workers to have confidence to serve people with up to date, evidence-based guidance.
She is also an honorary lecturer at UCT.
